Dr. Leigh Archer

Dr. Leigh Archer is a distinguished surgeon and weight loss expert with extensive training and experience in Upper GI, Bariatric, and General Surgery. He completed a national fellowship in Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery, along with comprehensive General Surgery training. He performs sleeve gastrectomy and bypass procedures and is an expert in interventional endoscopy.
Dr. Archer is passionate about providing high-quality care to the greater south metropolitan communities of Perth. This includes Mandurah and Rockingham, where he has established a reputation for his expertise and compassionate patient care. Dr. Archer is known for his ability to understand the complexities of the obesity cycle and his dedication to helping patients achieve their health goals. He is proficient in all aspects of weight management including lifestyle, medical, and surgical. A core value for Leigh is the power of coordinated efforts of a team, empowered through the best leadership. He personifies this through his fundamental, multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to obesity.
Dr. Archer consults in locations servicing Murdoch to Mandurah and as far East as Byford. His main rooms are in Baldivis. He is also a Medical Director, Board Member, and Major Shareholder for Waikiki Private Hospital.

Our new clinic in Baldivis brings together a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals, including exercise physiologists, psychologists, dietitians, and clinical nurses, all in one location. This integrated approach allows us to provide holistic care for our patients, ensuring their health journey is seamless and personalised.
Our focus on personalised care and multidisciplinary support enables us to deliver treatment that prioritises each patient’s individual needs, safety, and comfort.
With over 21years of nursing experience, Melissa specialises in Bariatric and Colorectal nursing, with a keen interest in stomal therapy. She is dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centred care that addresses the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental needs of individuals.
Her approach emphasises the interconnectedness of all aspects of a person’s well-being, allowing her to empower patients to achieve optimal health and healing.
Nat is an icon of the medical practice world. Her career spans over 45 years when she first started as a medical receptionist in Pinjarra. She quickly moved through the ranks of Medical administration into Practice Management. Her career has allowed her to work for various surgeons across Perth.
For the past 21 years she has specialized in Bariatrics. Nat, as she is affectionately known, enjoys helping people through their journeys and seeing the fantastic results over the years.
Rachael is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a passion for empowering individuals on their journey toward better health and well-being, particularly in the bariatric and weight management space. Her professional experience spans various settings, including hospitals, clinical environments, community health, and private practice.
Rachael finds her work in the bariatric field especially rewarding, having witnessed the transformative impact that weight loss surgery can have on individuals’ lives. She approaches her practice with empathy, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to share their experiences and concerns. Recognising that every individual’s journey is unique, Rachael is committed to tailoring her approach to meet each person’s specific needs and goals.
She is dedicated to working collaboratively with her clients, guiding them toward improved health and well-being.
Catherine has supported her husband, Dr Leigh Archer in his vision to create Veritas Specialist Centre. Together they have dedicated the last 16 years to medicine, culminating in the formation of a specialist centre that encompasses their vision to provide high-quality care to the patients of Perth. She takes on the role as Director of Operations overseeing the wonderful administration team and providing team development, marketing and innovation, relationship management and event co-ordination. Together they juggle the busy demands of running a practice whilst raising their two children.
Ashlen joined the Veritas Specialist Centre team in 2022 after previously working in medical administration and travelling the world as a nanny. Ashlen has a strong foundation in clinical and administration tasks and is dedicated to delivering a welcoming and efficient experience for all patients. Ashlen loves to travel and enjoys spending her free time with her partner and her dog along the shores of Rockingham.
Sara, our Business Development Manager, joined the Veritas team in 2024 with 15 years of experience in the healthcare field and a passion for building organised, robust, and thriving medical practices. After obtaining a BA in Psychology and a PostGradDip in Business Administration, her career began in the non-profit healthcare world in America.
Upon moving to Australia in 2014, she quickly found her feet in the field of specialist medicine management. In her spare time, she enjoys scuba diving, playing beach volleyball, gardening, and reading.
